September 15, 2005 | Back in Mozambique

Hi everyone!

It is great to be back here in our beloved Mozambique. It has been a busy week, and it looks like it is not going to slow down. Musy and I arrived from our two day flight and went directly to the car dealer. Please don¬¼t confuse an American Car dealership with a Mozambiqan dealership. In the USA, we have the privilege of our cars and trucks being made in our country, or, if we want an imported vehicle, there is no problem. Here, 100% of the vehicles are imported into the country.

Mozambique has funny import rules. All single cab trucks have a 5% tax added onto the original price. All double cab trucks have a 40% import tax, and all passenger cars have a unrealistic 95% import tax. Needless to say, everything is double the price it should be. However, when the King of Kings is working on our side, we are given the upper hand.

Musy and I purchased the truck of our dreams; we were expecting something old with lots of miles on it, and instead we were blessed with a new truck (2003) with very few miles on it. It was exactly the price that we were willing to spend for a vehicle. To give you a little perspective on how awesome this is, two years ago this vehicle was over $40,000 brand new, and it is under two years old.

We are now the proud owners of a Ford Ranger, double cab 4X4. As you can probably tell I am a proud father. Heidi Baker, Musy, nine of Heidi¬¼s kids, and I dedicated this vehicle to the Lord and to his service yesterday as we drove Heidi to the airport. This truck represents more than transportation: it is a vehicle that will take the gospel and miracle power of Jesus Christ all over Mozambique. And the great thing is that we get to break it in soon. This Saturday we are planning on heading north.

Please be praying for us as we journey to Pemba. We will be caravanning with a German family who just arrived. All together there are seven of them, with the children ages 16-3. They only have five seats so Musy and I are going to have some company as we drive. This is good because there is safety in numbers.

The main reason for writing this letter is to thank you for praying for us and for sowing into us. You are making this whole thing possible and we are forever grateful. We can feel your prayers, and we are seeing amazing outcomes. We are truly two blessed missionaries. Well, I got to run now. As soon as we get up to Pemba I will try to get some new pictures on our web page, so everyone can see some of our new life.

Blessings,

Will Hart
